My philosophy when it comes to modding games in 2022 is like this: Preserve as much of the original aesthetic and intent of the game as possible while mitigating the game's worst failings. You're not going to suddenly be wowed by any of the "plot" "twists" or "character" "writing." It does require some tuning, however, and the parts that are bad about Skyrim will not suddenly be good. Plus, kind of a non-specific genre sandbox is a really strong fit for VR. As a VR game - and yes, I'm adamant that there is a somewhat meaningful distinction between the two - Skyrim there's so little competition at its scale that it very well is one of your best choices for RPG adventuring. It's too much effort for too little pay off. It's no secret that I have a great deal of distaste for Skyrim.
